One source of truth
Everyone should see the same record. No re-keying, no version that's a week behind. Shared data is the whole point.
Commun exists to put a whole school on one shared record — so the people who teach, the families who trust them and the students at the centre are finally working from the same truth. Built in Malaysia, for international schools here.
The Latin communis gives us "community", "communicate" and "common" — words about things people hold together. We chose it because a school is exactly that: a thing held together by many hands.
We kept seeing the same problem. The bursar's billing, the teacher's gradebook and the parent's portal lived in different systems that never quite agreed. Information got re-typed, fell out of date, and trust quietly leaked away. We set out to build the opposite — one shared core everyone draws from, each in their own role and their own language.
They show up in the product as much as in the company — they're the reasons we make the choices we make.
Everyone should see the same record. No re-keying, no version that's a week behind. Shared data is the whole point.
MyInvois, FPX, MYR and three languages aren't add-ons here. We build for Malaysia first, so compliance is native.
Privacy, isolation and a clear reliability promise aren't features to upsell — they're the floor every school stands on.
Software for a whole community has to make sense to all of it — so we choose clarity over jargon, every time.
Educators, finance people and engineers who've sat on the school side of the desk — building close to the schools we serve.
See the mission in motion — one shared system for teachers, parents and students, made for schools in Malaysia.
