2. Two ways a school's WhatsApp line runs on Commun
A school's WhatsApp presence on our platform takes one of two forms. The display name tells them apart at a glance:

3. School-owned accounts
Under this model the two sides are deliberately separate. Everything that identifies the business to WhatsApp belongs to the school; only the software belongs to us.

Connection is performed by the school's own staff and can be undone by them at any time:
- The school creates its own Meta app under its own Business portfolio and registers its own phone number.
- The school generates its own credentials there and enters them into the WhatsApp settings page of its Commun portal. We never issue, hold or transfer a number on a school's behalf.
- Messages to that number are delivered to the school's own portal, where only that school's staff can read and reply to them. A school's number is never shared with another school, and one number belongs to exactly one school.
- The school can disconnect at any time from the same settings page, which stops the integration immediately.
- The number is used only for that school's own admissions enquiries and parent communication.
4. Lines operated on Commun's own WhatsApp Business Account
Some schools ask us to operate their WhatsApp line directly rather than maintain a Meta Business portfolio of their own. Those lines run on the WhatsApp Business Account of COMMUN EDTECH SDN. BHD., and their display names follow WhatsApp's parent-brand format: the school's name followed by by Commun, so the name states both whom the parent is talking to and which company owns the account. Each line is used only for that school's own admissions enquiries and parent communication, and messages are read and answered by that school's own staff in its Commun portal.
